Cathedral Peak Hotel

Chapel:
Magnificent setting, but watch the sun as the bride could not see the grooms face when she came in and it can be a tad warm.
Reception Venue:
The staff were amazing and helpful. The food plentiful and well prepared.
Service from management and co-ordinators:
Maureen and her staff coped with a difficult situation where five minutes after the ceremony we were trying to find a helicopter for an emergency medical situation. The sympathy and support was heart warming as they comforted, cried and went out of their way to make it better. This was to the extent that they offered us a breakfast for 63 grown-ups and children free of charge the following day.
No one complained despite the fact we must have been a nightmare with emotional melt downs and screaming matches. They calmed us down and let us know we were supported by everyone including the porters. The groom spent part of his honeymoon in a wheelchair and the helped us cope with that too.
Service from waiters/waitresses:
Smiling faces, nothing was too much trouble.
Photographic opportunities:
Watch out for dangerous terrain.
Food:
Vegetarians catered for and the yorkshire puddings plentiful and delicious. The desserts are wow!
Bridal Suite:
Expensive and the staff did not remove the dirty dishes.
Honeymoon Suite:
See above
Accommodation:
A little pricy for what is given
Added extras:
Normally I would have said this was relatively expensive to some Gauteng venues, but the service was exceptional. The DJ and photographer both were there for us and when it went pear shaped the help was so appreciated.
Overall: and a half
I would recommend the venue, without hesitation. The only problem is that it is far from everything so do not forget things and the hospital trip is not to be recommended due to the road and distance. The staff at the hospital however did their job as quickly and the hotel staff phoned with medical history and prepared the way for us.
