ABOUT UMBHABA LODGE

Umbhaba Lodge is a tranquil venue, with our chapel overlooking the Sabie River valley. Our menus are tailor made to suit your budget and dietary requirements. Our brand new venue, the "Ingwe" hall has been designed slightly away from the lodge to make your special day totally private and memorable for you and your guests.

Our Chapel hangs over one of our dams, making our venue a photographers dream.

There is a peaceful valley in the Lowveld all visitors vow to return to. The Sabie River Valley lies at the edge of the escarpment of the misty Drakensberg Mountains which towers above the subtropical, bushveld below. On a hillside overlooking this valley lies Umbhaba Lodge.
The peace and tranquility at Umbhaba, along with the seclusion of the Lowveld is the ideal departure point for excursions in to the Kruger National Park , the majestic Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window and Bourke’s Luck Pot Holes. Aside from luxury accommodation in a total of thirty rooms, the lodge is perfect for romantic weddings and high powered conferences.
Thirty suites are tastefully decorated, each in individual style.  All rooms are temperature controlled for your comfort and are surrounded by flowing waterfalls and lush subtropical  gardens.

The Induna Honeymoon Suite, sprawling over three levels,  comprises a romantic Jacuzzi, en suite bathroom and mini bar.  The private patio  presents  a welcome opportunity for  relaxing  with a sundowner, while embracing the abundance of bird and animal life after a day of game viewing.
The Induna Honeymoon Suite, sprawling over three levels, comprises an open fireplace, en suite bathroom, mini bar and Jacuzzi. The private patio presents a welcome opportunity for relaxing with a sundowner, while embracing the abundance of bird and animal life after a day of game viewing.

The African Tribal Suites are spacious with separate lounges and bedrooms, a fire place on either side, four poster beds, en-suite bathrooms, twin showers and sunken window baths with spectacular sunset views over the Sabie Valley and hippo pools.

Reflecting the history of majestic elephants found in the Kruger National Park through the years , the Tusker Rooms have sunken corner baths and private patios surrounded by the sounds of cascading waterfalls from the surrounding water features.

Enjoy a cocktail, glass of port or ice cold beer in the bar or lounge after a day of game viewing in the Kruger National Park. With an inviting fire place, comfortable lounge and a wooden deck with exquisite view, this is the perfect venue to reminisce about the day’s excitement.
Activities in this breathtaking natural setting include day and night safaris, helicopter excursions, hot air ballooning, fishing, hiking and horse riding.
